I am super excited to have a guest blog post up on Kerri Sparling's Blog Site sixuntilme. Kerri is a huge inspiration for me in terms of being a mom with Type 1 diabetes who uses her voice to advocate and share her story with others. She is a very talented writer and has a huge following in the diabetes community.
I had the chance to meet Kerri this past summer (the way I reacted you would have thought I just met Brad Pitt!) and I credit her with inspiring me to start a blog of my own.
Thanks Kerri for letting me guest blog on your site! It is truly an honor! :)

Great guest-post, Heidi. As I mentioned over there, so happy to find another fellow Type 1 in this ever-expanding Diabetes Online Community. Kerri is truly inspirational to so many, and so are many many countless others out there who've got so many started in the blogosphere! Haven't had much chance to go through the archives and catch up, but will plan to do that before long. Thanks for sharing your story and looking forward to keeping in touch! (Happy belated 4 year diaversary, by the way).
ReplyDeleteHeidi - I just read your blog post at sixuntilme and it's so nice to hear from another PWD that's my age from the Philly suburbs!
ReplyDeleteOk so now I am a total stalker of your blog but I just read one of your initial posts and saw that you graduated from Bucknell! So did I (in 2005), I am currently living in Wayne, and I have been a diabetic since I was 2 (for almost 26 years yikes!).
ReplyDeleteThank you both for your comments!!
ReplyDeleteSchuyler- I am also a 2005 bucknell grad!! small world!!
It really is a small world! I would love to meet up sometime as most diabetics I know are men and it would be great to talk about the female perspective (especially when it comes to working out and diabetes!). Is your contact info on bucknell's b-link?
ReplyDeleteI just started a new blog about diabetes/eating/exercise!... Check it out! I love your blog!
